2023 Fundraiser Recap

Our 2023 fundraiser was definitely one of our best ever. It was fun, informative, and those who attended were very generous. Thank you to everyone who helped, donated, gave items for the auction, or sponsored the event. 

Next week, we are going to spend time each day thanking our event sponsors and those who donated auction items. Most of those "thanks" will be done via Facebook, so make sure you like our page! We will make sure to send an email highlighting those sponsors next week as well.

The reality of Haiti is not good. The past few years have been difficult and discouraging as we wait for something good to happen, and the good never seems to come.

That discouragement and difficulty that we face pales in comparison to the fear, uneasiness, discouragement, lack of hope, and more that our kids and employees must face on a daily basis. Do they verbalize those things? No. But they are there.

You may be wondering what this has to do with a fundraiser recap, and the answer is simple. Things like what happened Saturday night are a win in an environment that has been full of losses and difficulties. 

Things in Haiti are truly hard and anyone who tries to spin that into something else is not telling the truth. Prices are through the roof, discouragement is at an all-time high, and gangs are controlling more and more of the country every day. While our kids are safe where they are, that could change at any point.

Your generosity and perseverance to stay with this ministry through the hardships and the good is truly amazing, and the support that you showed at our event this past Saturday night was one of the most encouraging blessings we could have experienced.
