Changes are Coming
It has been a while since we have posted a new blog, and we apologize for that! There is so much going on, it is sometimes difficult to do everything that we would like. Today, I am going to take some time to just let everyone know of the many changes coming. Beginning this ministry has been a lot of fun, but it is not without its stress and there is a lot of change happening even as I type this.
The first major change is that I will no longer be the Associate Pastor of RiverTown Church as of December 31. As many of you know, Jess already made her first big transition when she did not go back to teaching at the beginning of this year, and I am just starting to realize how difficult this must have been for her. I have been a pastor in some form or another for the past 15 years! That is both crazy and a little sad to realize that I am old enough to have been doing anything for that long. Anyway, I am preaching for the last time this coming Sunday and then my last Wednesday night with our youth is December 11. I cannot begin to describe how hard this is to believe.
The other big change is that Jess and I will be full-time with All Things New starting this January. That is scary in a few ways, not the least of which is that Jess will now have to put up with me on a full-time basis, I do not envy her! But as most of you know, it is also scary in that we have to really ramp up our fundraising efforts and our sponsorship program. Please make sure to continue getting the word out about All Things New, about the sponsorship, and also about the Silent Auction fundraiser that we have coming up on March 1. This is a big step, but it means that we will be spending our time with the children that GOD has laid on our hearts. We will get to be there for them, take care of them, and love them like we have been called to do.
I say all of this for one major reason…Please be in prayer for us.
Those of you who are reading this blog are the people that care about us and our ministry, and you know that we love these kids. You understand that we are so ready to be down there with them, and you also want that because you love those children too. Maybe you’ve never met them, but they have captured your heart and you want what is best for them just like we do. These are children who need to know the love of a Mom and Dad and to learn what it means to be loved by their Perfect Father. Please pray for all that is happening in this ministry, because as the time comes for us to make these major changes, we understand that we cannot do it alone. We need you! GOD has laid this ministry on our hearts, but yours as well, and we are so incredibly grateful to each of you for joining us.
Finally, we have the power of the Almighty GOD behind us as we attempt to follow Him. For us, this is a huge step in faith, and sometimes it seems impossible, but for Him it is simple. He controls it and He controls our lives. We are trying to learn this everyday, but as you know this is not an easy lesson to learn. So as you pray for us, pray for yourselves as well! Pray that GOD would teach each of us what it means to truly live for Him, and what it means that a huge step in faith for us is simple for the One who created everything.
