Hurricane Melissa
As many of you know, a category 5 hurricane made landfall in Jamaica a few days ago. Haiti was largely spared from the worst part of the storm, but there was still a lot of damage caused by the intense rain and high winds.
All of our kids and employees at All Things New are ok! That's the most important thing.
We had a little scare for a few days because one of our older boys left the house to visit a friend just hours prior to the storm making landfall. This was not a good decision, but he is a teenage boy and they do not always make the best decisions!
A few days later, he was found. He was stuck in another city because of the storm and did not have his cell phone with him. Good news...He's home now and all of the kids and employees are safe.
In Haiti, at least 43 people have died because of the storm. Many people were flooded out of their homes and many homes were destroyed. There will be some rebuilding required, but the worst part is the state that Haiti was in prior to the storm.
Things are still very difficult there and a week full of rain and wind has only made things worse. Please continue to pray for the country, and thank you for the prayers that were lifted up for our kids...They were answered.
