Leaving for Haiti Tomorrow
Elijah’s passport finally came in on Tuesday (we were sweating a little because we had already purchased flights) and we are on our way to Haiti tomorrow! We may struggle a little with communication for the first few days we are down there and getting settled, but as soon as we get working internet, we will let you know how things are going and we will get back to our “Get Involved” blog series when we get settled. Please pray for us as this will be Elijah’s first time down, and our first time down with 2 babies under the age of 2. There will definitely be some challenges, but we are so excited to introduce the kids to Elijah and for Sophie to be with her friends again (I would really encourage you to click here to see a video of Sophie with the kids the last time we were there, I may be a little biased but it is a really good video). Anyway, just a few things to be in prayer about over the next few days:
- The transition for our family.
- The transition for the kids.
- School will be starting on September 4.
- For Sophie and Elijah to get adjusted to the heat.
- That we would quickly establish a good schedule for everyone.
There are a lot of other things that I could list, but these are some of the big ones. We will be leaving our house at 4am on Friday (thanks Chase Covington for being willing to get us), our flight from JAX leaves at 6:25, our flight from MIA leaves at 10:45, and we should arrive in Haiti around 1:00. Thanks for praying, and we cannot wait to be in Haiti with the whole family!
