Nothing is Impossible with GOD

We cannot wait to be in Haiti!  We think about it and pray about it all of the time.  We get up each morning and pray together about how GOD is going to make this happen and how we can stay in the center of His will.  At times, however, things get very overwhelming.  We are just starting to do fundraising now.  We have just now gotten the proper paperwork to begin asking people to give to our ministry, and this is both exciting and overwhelming.  There is so much need and we have to rely on others at every turn.  This is both faith-building and frustrating at the same time.

On the other hand, GOD has been with us every step of the way.  I had never designed a website (or even tried) before this one.  Jessica had never had to design and think through promotional materials for a whole organization.  We’ve definitely never done the legal work to start an organization, had to find supporters to pray and give to a cause, or in general done the organizational leg work that it takes to begin a non-profit organization.  GOD has supplied everything to this point in our ministry, and we trust and believe that He will do the rest.

I am kind of a control person.  I like to know what is next, I like to have a plan, and I like to know what is going to happen next in my life.  In this process, none of those things have really happened, and it has been tough.  But it has also been pretty fun.  We had an advisory team meeting (and by the way, our advisory team is absolutely incredible – Mark, Karen, Natalie, Chase, Phil, Jill, Debbie, Mike, Bill) last night, and these meetings are incredible for us.  After each meeting we feel a renewed sense of purpose and accomplishment, and it is great.  But what I realized last night, is that we have accomplished a lot.  We have done things that we absolutely had no idea how to do, and there is no way we could have done them without our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with GOD.”

When this verse was written, it was about GOD allowing Zechariah and Elizabeth to have a baby at an old age.  But it really teaches us the idea that we should have faith in GOD no matter what.  And when GOD clearly tells us something and leads us to something, He will accomplish it!  How could He not – HE IS GOD!  So please pray for us (as we pray for ourselves) that GOD would teach us to have faith in the fact that nothing is impossible for GOD…How could it be?
