School In Haiti Is About to Begin!

As many of you know, we lost one of our primary donors 2 years ago when there were some changes that happened within a church that had been supporting us for almost 15 years! We are still not recovered from that!

That church gave enough money every year to cover most of our school costs, and we are now in need of raising that money again! We need to raise about $10,000 to cover all school costs for our kids and we need your help!

I do not think I need to discuss the importance of an education, but it is different in Haiti than it is here. For many of us, there was always a goal at the end of our educational pursuit, and that goal was/is almost always some type of job or career.

In Haiti, that is not always the case. There are few enough jobs that exist so that even if you have a great education, you may or may not be able to find a job. So why do we focus so much on our kids' education? So much so that we have had 7 kids already graduate high school...

Because education is inherently important in and of itself. The ability to read, think critically, problem solve, do math, speak/write well, and many other things are vital for a higher quality of life. Education also helps you to understand GOD!

The bottom line is that this is an important, even vital pursuit and we need your help to make sure our kids are well-educated.
