The Future of All Things New

There are a lot of things to discuss as far as the future of All Things New is concerned. Our biggest initial concern is figuring out how to live in a new city.

If you read our previous blog, then you know that we moved our kids from their longtime home in Gressier to a new city called Ti Goave about 30 miles west. This was a necessary move based on all of the gang activity, kidnapping, shooting, etc. in Gressier.

If you would like to help us with our move, we are estimating a cost of around $10,500 that includes:

 - Our first year rent payment ($7,000), which is due upfront so that the home can be made ready for new residents.

 - New beds and mattresses ($3500).

There are a lot of things that we are still trying to figure out including how good the new school is, which houses to live in (although we have made this decision and will be moving in soon), which church to attend, and where our older kids will attend college/vocational school after they graduate.

Our kids are trying to meet new people, make friends, and grow accustomed to a new city and kind of a new life. There is very little hope that this countrywide predicament will end any time soon, and I think our kids understand that and that helps as the try to get used to their new surroundings.

There is also a longer-term plan that we are in the process of developing as well. We are currently putting together a team, both in America and Haiti, that will start creating individualized plans for each of our kids' futures. We are still in the early planning stages, but there is going to be a lot more info on this team to come and definitely by the end of this year.

We kept hoping things would improve in Haiti, but we have to be ready to help our kids there in the worst of circumstances in case those circumstances continue...Stay tuned!
