The Supremacy of Christ

I get to preach at RiverTown Church this coming Sunday, and I have been reminded of something incredible about our Savior…That He is completely worthy.  Throughout this process of following GOD’s leadership in our lives, it is my hope that we will always be willing to give Jesus the place that He deserves in our lives…Absolute supremacy and absolute preeminence!  I realize I said essentially the same thing, but it is my hope that we never lose sight of our Savior.  I was reminded of this when reading and preaching from Colossians 1:15-20.  Now, the good part of preaching this passage is that all I really have to do is read it, and it is just so powerful it will be really hard to mess it up.  Read these words:

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created: things in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.  And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in Heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.”

What powerful and true words about our Savior!  Oh that we could understand these words and put them into practice in our own lives by giving our Savior the place He deserves.
