We Moved Part 6: Jessica’s Perspective

Yesterday Matt covered in such detail what went on between Wednesday and Saturday of that week that I decided to share something different today. About a month ago, I read Psalm 12 and would like to share it in light of everything that has been going on with us, with the kids, and with Audancin:

Help, Lord, for the godly are no more;
the faithful have vanished from among men.
Everyone lies to his neighbor;
their flattering lips speak with deception.
May the Lord cut off all flattering lips
and every boastful tongue
that says, “We will triumph with our tongues;
we own our lips-who is our master?”
“Because of the oppression of the weak
and the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise,” says the Lord.
“I will protect them from those who malign them.”
And the words of the Lord are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.
O Lord, you will keep us safe
and protect us from such people forever.
The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men.

When I read this Psalm things were awful at the orphanage. We did not know what was going to happen, how we were going to help the kids, and how we would overcome this “wicked” man. I remember reading it as a promise from God. I remember praying these verses over our kids and asking God to arise and protect them from those who malign them. I share this with you today to tell you God keeps His promises. Sometimes it seems like it will never happen. Sometimes terrible things have to happen first. Believe these words in Psalm 12 if you are going through something hard. I cannot wait for you to read Matt’s conclusion to our story and then mine tomorrow and see just how awesome our God is.

“What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Romans 8:31
