Starting School in Haiti and America (Sophie's First Day)
As many of you know, the past 3 years in Haiti has been full of social and political unrest and general upheaval culminating in President Jovenel's assassination on July 7 of this year. This has had huge implications on the education system in Haiti both in the level of education kids have received and the number of days schools have actually been open and All Things New has not been exempt from theses struggles. -
Missing The Kids' First Day
We missed being in Haiti on their first day, but we did not miss the pride that we feel for each of them for not giving up and for pushing as hard as they can to do as well as they can. Thank you for being proud with us and thank you for praying for us and supporting all that we do! -
Knowledge and Love
My prayer is that I would become the "build others up with love instead of eating the food" guy. That my love for GOD would outweigh my knowledge of Him. That my love for other people would be more important than me being "right." My prayer is that I can teach this to our kids at All Things New, my own children, and anyone else that GOD allows me to. Join me in praying that GOD changes our hearts so that we choose love over knowledge. -
An Update on ATN, School, and Haiti
With the school year beginning both here and in Haiti, I wanted to update everyone on what is going on with our kids and with Haiti in general. I will split the update into a few sections focusing on Covid-19, the start of a new school year, the ending of last school year, and how things are going at All Things New. -
